Anamnesis: a site-specific, three channel video installation featuring digitized super-8 film that I shot in 1983 of an extended weekend spent with the French philosopher Jean-Francois Lyotard in Fillerval, France. During that summer Lyotard was formulating a prospectus for one of the first electronic exhibitions in France entitled “Les Immateriaux” or “Immaterials”.

The video is projected behind the tableaux of a writing desk; books and other collected artifacts related to Lyotard are accompanied by an audio archive of recollections from the weekend.
